Craig, Thomas Lee

Mr. Thomas Lee Craig, 43, of Wataga, Ill. died at 7:55 am Friday, June 6, 2014 in Jackson Hospital Montgomery, Ala.  He was born March 29, 1971 in Galesburg, Ill. to Ed and Shirley King Craig.  He married Angela C. Sharp April 4, 1992 in Galesburg.  She survives.

Also surviving is his son Jack Thomas Craig at home, his mother, Shirley (and Gary) Pringle of Galesburg, a brother, Edward (and Ruby) Craig of Greencastle, Ind., a step brother, Bub (and Bev) Pringle of Tenn., his mother-in-law, Kimberly Robinson of Abingdon, Ill., his father-in-law, Pat (and Debbie) Sharp of Galesburg, several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, a sister, Lisa Craig Stone and his grandparents.

Tom was an engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Road for 20 years.  He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1989. He attended Monmouth College where he was a member of the T.K.E fraternity.  He was a member of the United Transportation Union Local # 195.  He was a Notre Dame Football fan.  He loved watching his son play football.  He was a devoted husband and father who worked hard and played harder.  On a lighter note, Tom said he was a shark attack survivor.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the chapel.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for his son Jack at Anderson State Bank in Oneida, Ill.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
