Armstrong, David Charles

David Charles Armstrong, 44, of Little York, Ill., died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at home.

He was born October 20, 1969 in Peoria, Ill. the son of Robert Ronnie and Mary (Ewing) Armstrong. He married Rachelle Anne Meyer on June 12, 2010 in Little York.

He is survived by his wife, Rachelle; his parents, Ron and Mary Armstrong of Little York; a daughter, Kenna Janell Armstrong of Oquawka, Ill.; four step daughters, Heather Anne Samuelson, Whitley Marie Samuelson, Kayla Louise Samuelson, and Ashley Rose Samuelson, all of Moline, Ill.; six grandchildren, Jeremiah, Bryson, Fransico Jr., Mariah, Brayden, and Cassandra; a sister, Patricia (and Matt) Paul of Andalusia, Ill.; and a niece, Haley Paul.

David was a dispatcher at Waste Management in Galesburg for the past five years. He graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1987 and the University of Illinois. David was a volunteer fireman for Little York and had served as the Sumner Township Supervisor.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Little York. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to an education fund for his daughter, Kenna or to an education fund for his grandchildren.
