WGIL Newsroom . State News 99

EAST PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Authorities in East Peoria say three people are dead after a gunman shot two people at an East Peoria sports bar before he was shot and killed by an off-duty law-enforcement officer.

The (Peoria) Journal Star reports that the gunman walked into The Fifth Quarter bar Saturday night and shot two people who were attending a high school reunion before he was shot and killed by the officer.

The gunman’s victims were 33-year-old Lori A. Moore of Morton and a 36-year-old Lance E. Griffel of Peoria. Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says both were shot in the head.

Police did not immediately identify the gunman, and would not identify the off-duty officer or where the officer worked.

Police say more than 100 witnesses provided information.
