WGIL Newsroom . State News 214

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) — The Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington has added three new species of animals to its collection.

According to WJBC radio, one of the new animals is a Matschie’s tree kangaroo named Roger Paul. That type of kangaroo is endangered due to habitat loss and overhunting.

Also on display is a family of tropical birds known as green wood hoopoes. The parents and three offspring are native to Africa.

The third addition is a Tammar wallaby. A breeding program for the small wallabies is run from the Miller Park Zoo.
