Here’s a look at today’s sport scheduleLegion
The Monmouth American Legion baseball team won’t have far to travel as they come to Galesburg tonight for a doubleheader with Post 285. The games will be played at H.T. Custer Park (beginning at 5pm). Galesburg is trying to bounce back from a pair of losses to East Moline last evening. Coach Steve Cheeseman reports that it was the first time Galesburg has been swept in a doubleheader at home in 10 years. They will take a record of 16-10 into tonight’s games with Monmouth.
Eiker
Galesburg track standout Josh Eiker will be departing this week for the Junior Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, where he will compete in the 200-meter dash. The Galesburg High School junior finished second in the state meet last month with a time of 21.28 seconds. Eiker will be accompanied by GHS boys track coach Craig Hillier, and both of them will be joining us tomorrow morning at 8:10 on the WGIL Morning News.
