Ralph S. Haga Jr., 66, of Galva died at 5:23 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 7 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Don Reul will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, July 6 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church or to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
He was born July 7, 1947 in Marion, VA, the son of Ralph S. and Sarah Fern (Martin) Haga Sr. Survivors include his son, Ralph (Andrea) Haga III of Galva, his daughter, Angela (Scott) Benson of Knoxville, IL, four brothers, David (Janice) Haga, Keith (Teresa) Haga, Dennis (Donna) Haga and Jim (JoAnne) Haga, all of Galva, three sisters, Anna Haga and Denise “Debbie” Haga, both of Galva and Dian (Mike) Clark of Abingdon and four grandchildren, Sydney and William Ralph “Will” Haga and Connor and MaKayla Benson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Teresa Lynn in infancy and Phyllis.
Ralph graduated from Galva High School in 1967. He had worked as an iron pourer at the Galva Foundry. He could fix anything and enjoyed working with his hands and had a passion for working on cars and attending car cruises and car shows. He enjoyed his Hot Rods and cruising Galva in his golf cart and he especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
