A Galesburg man wanted for about a week in connection with a beating that took place at a downtown Galesburg hotel has been arrested.
Galesburg Police confirm they arrested 32-year-old Kenwaun Murray earlier this week on a Knox County Warrant charging him with a Class-X felony count of Armed Robbery, and multiple counts of Aggravated Battery.
Police were called to the Broadview hotel near the city’s Public Square during the early morning hours of June 22nd, where two men claimed they had been beaten on the head with a blunt metal object believed to be a car jack.
Authorities believe Murray attacked the two after they let two adult entertainers into their hotel room.
During a police traffic stop this week, officers say Murray allegedly had cocaine and heroin on him, and now faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, along with a count of Driving on a Suspended License.
Murray is being held at the Knox County Jail pending future court dates.
