The championship of the District 15 American Legion baseball tournament is at stake this afternoon as Galesburg plays Oneida. A win by Galesburg in the afternoon game would give them the title in the double elimination format, but a win by Oneida would force a second game to be played this evening to decide the champion. Both teams advanced with wins over the host Quincy yesterday, as Galesburg came from 10 runs down to win 12-11, and Oneida held on to win the second game by a score of 5-4. The winner of today’s title will move on the Jacksonville next week for the Division Tournament.
In Monmouth, three teams are vying for the right to move into tomorrow’s title matchup with Milan. Macomb, Moline, and East Moline all have one loss, and will playing each other in the knockout round. Macomb upset top-seeded Rock Island yesterday 17-2 at Sunnyland Field.
