A Galesburg man accused of molesting a young girl has made another court appearance, and wants his bond reduced.
53-year-old William Hickman, Senior made a brief appearance in Knox County Circuit Court this morning — his first appearance with Public Defender Jim Harrell, who was appointed to the case this week.
Hickman was arrested on Wednesday of last week at an address in rural Knox County, and prosecutors say he inappropriately touched a girl younger than the age of 12 on multiple occasions the last several years.
He faces charges of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class-X felony.
A judge today scheduled a preliminary hearing for July 29th, at which time a request to lower Hickman’s $250-thousand bond will be considered.
In the meantime, Hickman remains held in the Knox County Jail.
