Grant, Catherine Jean

Catherine Jean Grant, 85, of Roseville, IL passed away Thursday July 17, 2014, 6:25 pm at the Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center. She was born April 24, 1928 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Frank and Mary Lo Presti Romano. She married David Grant on September 3, 1948, he preceded her on January 11, 2000.

She is survived by her four children Jim (Connie) Grant, Dick (Lynn) Grant, and Chuck (Mary) Grant and son-in-law Jim Alexander; grandchildren Doug, Dan, and Dale Grant, Jennifer, Nick Grant, Katie Cazalet, Andrea Lawrence, and Eric Grant, Kris Peterson, Laura Draganov and Sam Alexander; 9 great grandchildren; one sister Mary Moore. She was preceded by her parents, husband, 1 daughter (Nancy Alexander)

She Attended school at ICS and Monmouth High School. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. In 1995 she received an award DCLW Woman of the year for her Parrish for outstanding service to their Parrish community. In 2007 she was awarded a plaque St. Isadore Rural Life award from Bishop Jenky. Kate was chair person for the Roseville Blood Program for 25 years. In 1995 She received a Medallion with a message of appreciation from the Red Cross. She was a volunteer for the LaMoine Christian Nursing Home for 25 years. Kate was presented the Community Builders Award by the Masonic Lodge # 519. She was a Member Colfax Club for 50 years. She was a Member of the St. Patrick’s Alter Society and Choir. She was a member of the Roseville Woman’s Club. She was an avid sports fan for local teams with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an avid Cub’s fan, loved gardening and raising flowers. She loved her family. Kate just loved life.

Funeral Mass will be Monday July 21, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth, IL. Family will receive friends on Sunday July 20, 2014, at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL from 2:30-4:00 pm. Burial will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the ICS School, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and or the Roseville Area Ambulance. Please sign the online guestbook at www.cormanmh.com.
