Carter, Georgia Ann

Georgia Ann Carter, age 70 of Abingdon, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home.

She was born on July 19, 1944 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Maurice and Dorothy (Value) Dunn. She was raised by Frank and Wanda Fader and also Jack Fader. She married Thomas B. Carter, Sr. on July 9, 1996 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Georgia is survived by her children, Tammy (and Tim) Lindsey of Armington, Frank “Tony” Jackson of Palm Coast, Florida and Mark (and Rhonda) Jackson of Astoria and Kellie Jackson of Layton, Utah; five grandchildren, Brandi Short, Andrea Short, Logan Lindsey, Kyle Jackson and Abe Jackson; one great-grandchild, Carter Walton Durst; one sister, Mauricia Harrison of Palm Coast, Florida; and one brother, Jack Fader of Keokuk, Iowa.

She attended Keokuk Jr. and Sr. High Schools. She worked Shelor Globe in Keokuk, at Target in Galesburg and at Heartland Health Care Center also in Galesburg.

She loved fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate her life, the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, 206 N. Washington St., Abingdon, Illinois 61410. Private burial of her ashes will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois at a later date.
