A Monmouth restaurant that quickly became known for some of the gourmet and unusual food pairings it offered is closing its doors after a little more than a year in business.
Rovi’s Gourmet burgers announced through its Facebook page today that it will be closing after about 14 months in business. Its last day will be tomorrow.
Co-owner Ronda Pinson says it’s like a death to her and other co-owner Vicki Feehan, and that they tried to keep the closure from happening as much as they could.
The restaurant on South Main Street in Monmouth purchased its beef locally from Galesburg’s Thrushwood Farms, and also served homemade soups and salads in addition to dessert fare.
Pinson says, “Please know that we appreciate everything our guests have done for us.”
In addition to their food, Rovi’s quickly became known for all the help they provided to local charities.
