UPDATED 11:43am A 68-year old Oquawka man was injured when his home-made, single-seat aircraft took a short dive into a cornfield, about a mile south of Oquawka.
Henderson County deputy Steve Henshaw was one of the first on the scene and says the call came in around 6:30pm Wednesday.
Henshaw and Oquawka Police Chief Keith DeJaynes say the pilot, Steven Richmond, was wearing a helmet when the small aircraft went down. He was taken by Oquawka Ambulance to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. Authorities say he’s since been transported to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, where his condition is not known.
