Patricia J. “Pat” Johnson, 69, of Galva, passed away at 7:39 PM, Sunday, July 27, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, July 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Ann Champion will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed towards a trust fund for Keri Johnson or to Abilities Plus.
She was born May 30, 1945 in St. Joseph, MI, the daughter of Eugene and Nina Elizabeth (Burris) Swanson. She married Stephen E. “Steve” Johnson on August 14, 1965 in Rolling Meadows, IL. He survives, as do three daughters, Kelly (Todd) Ramlo of Yorkville, IL, Kim Johnson of Colfax, IL and Keri Johnson of Galva, a sister, Elizabeth (Ronald) Howard of West Chicago, IL, four grandchildren, Quentin and Savannah Getty and Sidney and Spencer Snider and two step-grandchildren, Abigail Gettys and Hannah Ramlo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry.
Pat graduated from Palatine High School in 1963 and had attended Business College. She spent many years transporting special needs children and was a van driver and teacher’s aide for the Head Start Program in Kewanee. She had also worked at Marsh & McClennan in Chicago. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galva and the XI Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was an avid reader who enjoyed playing bridge with two different groups from Galva and Bradford and traveling with her family
