There will be another Circle K taking up residence in Galesburg thanks to an agreement between Tri Star Marketing and a company out of Canada.
Earlier this week, Tri Star Marketing agreed to sell 55 Super Pantry stores to the Canadian company. According to a press release from Tri Star Marketing the acquisition means those stores will now become Circle K’s.
That means the Super Pantry on Henderson Street in Galesburg and the one on North Main in Monmouth over the next few months will make the change due to the buyout.
However, according to the press release, all the current fuel brands being offered at both locations will remain the same — which are Mobil.
According to the release the transaction is anticipated before the end of the second quarter, which would be around October 12.
The release does not disclose how much the sale of Super Pantry went for, and President and CEO of Tri Star Marketing, Jon Stewart did not return WGIL’s request for an interview.
