Man Pleads Not Guilty to Felony Sex Charge

WGIL Newsroom . Local News 214

A Galesburg man accused of sexually abusing a young girl is pleading not guilty to the charges.

Knox County Circuit Court records indicate 35-year-old Timothy Longcor pleaded not guilty yesterday through his Public Defender to a Class-Two felony charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, and asked for a trial by jury.

Longcor was arrested in late-July, after Galesburg Police allege Longcor of inappropriately touching his 10-year-old niece.

It’s alleged that Longcor committed the acts several times July 21st. The victim allegedly locked the door to her bedroom after the last act at a home in the four-hundred block of Clark Street, at which time parents are believed to have called police.

Longcor was allegedly intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

A pre-trial hearing in the case has been scheduled for October sixth, with a trial happening as soon as two weeks after that. Longcor is jailed on $15-thousand bond.
