If you’re a fan of running and have been waiting for a new running shop to open after “Go Outside and Play” closed, then you’re in luck.
The new “Ride and Run” shop is open for business, and if you’re wondering what the ride part of Ride and Run is–that would be the bike part of the new shop.
Ride and Run caters to both runners and cyclists, and Owner-Operator Drew Kleine tells the WGIL Morning News that he has a passion for biking and wanted to bring that back to Galesburg.
“I grew up BMX racing which was making the kids do jumps and that sort of thing, and I started that in 4th grade and did that pretty much all through high school and when I went off to college, I switched from BMX racing and went to more mountain biking and road racing,” says Kleine.
Kleine says that as for the running aspect of the shop, he trained with Nick Pigg, the former owner of “Go Outside and Play,” and learned how to fit running shoes so he can confidently help his running costumers.
He says they have several brands of running shoes and apparel to offer the running community.
Ride and Run is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
