District 205 and Community Team Up to Help Feed Children

As the strike continues, many students who bank on school to get their meals for the day are left with little options. 

Starting Wednesday, however, the district and several community organizations have come together to help provide students lunch as the strike continue.

According to a press release from the district any student age 18 months to 18 years is eligible for the free lunch program. Lunch will be severed from 11:30 to 12:30 at the following locations.

Bethel Baptist Church

the Knox County YMCA

Hope Wesleyan Church

First Presbyterian Church

First Church of the Nazarene

Woodland Bend Community Center

Cedar Creek PLace Community Center.

According to district officials, it’s the district’s intent to run the program throughout the work stoppage.
