Brady, John Ellis

John Ellis Brady, 75, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 2:33 P.M. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

John was born February 5, 1939 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, the son of Talbert Lee and Edith Pauline (Surguy) Brady. He married Martha Lynn Wilson on March 17, 1966 in Carbondale, Illinois and she survives.

He was raised in Tucumcari and graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute, Roswell, New Mexico, in 1958. John served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963 when he was honorably discharged. He then attended Southern Illinois University and graduated with a degree in Dental Technology.

John was a certified dental technician and was the owner of Brady Crown and Bridge Dental Laboratory. John was an avid sportsman, who loved to fish and duck hunt. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA.

John is survived by his three daughters, Edie (James) Lazzari and their children, Brad and Rachel of Peoria, Illinois; Laura (Claudio) Herrero and their children Sofia and Colin of Ft. Myers, Florida; and Janet (Bart) Lammey and their children Kate and George of Normal, Illinois. Also surviving is his sister, Pollyanne Mobley of Tucumcari, New Mexico; brother, Jack Lee (Laura) Brady of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jean Colleen Brady.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Warren County Hope Cemetery. Pastor Kirk Kendall will officiate.
