Farmington Central School District #265 is embarking on a $1.8 million solar power project. When completed, it will be the largest project of it’s kind in the country.

Farmington Central Schools superintendent Dr. John Asplund announced a district solar power project Monday. The $1.8 million project will be partially funded by a $1.15 million grant and partially paid by the school district. It will be the largest solar power project of it’s kind at any public school in the nation. It’s expected to pay for itself within 7 to 10 years. We talked about the project with John Asplund on the WGIL Morning News.
