Clark, Robert E.

Robert E. Clark, 77, of Galesburg, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 28, 1936 in Galesburg the son of Fred G. and Martha C. (Crowder) Clark. He married Janet Miles on June 7, 1959 at the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; a daughter, Cindy (and Robert) Unthank of Galesburg; two sons, Roger (and Laura) Clark of Pueblo West, Colorado and Bradley Clark of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Marvin Clark of Danville, Illinois and a sister, Anna M. (and Charles) Brown of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fred, Eugene, and Charles Clark; and two sisters, Mildred Irene, in infancy, and Thelma L. Clark.

Robert worked for 31 years as a customer service agent and ramp agent for the former Ozark Air Lines and Trans World Airlines in Galesburg, Ill., Champaign, Ill., Nashville, Tn., and Kansas City, Mo.. He was a 1955 graduate of Galesburg High School.

He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Glen W. Bocox will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 Honor Squad. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
