Hatch, A. Marie

A. Marie Hatch, age 74 of Stover, Missouri, formerly of the Abingdon area, passed away at 12:33 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2014. She will be dearly missed.

She was born on June 8, 1940, the daughter of Carl and June McLaren Hatch.

Marie is survived by two sons, James R. (Kat) Boyd of Versailles, Missouri and John M (Cindy) Boyd of Columbus Junction, Iowa. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Joseph, Krystal, Jacob, Justin, Brittney, Nicholas, Kelly, Ashley and nine great-grandchildren. She has one brother, Robert (June) Hatch of Galesburg and two sisters, Beverly (Russ) Onion and Carolyn (Rich) Hughes all of Abingdon.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She worked in many nursing homes as a nurse aide and had also worked for 15 years in the mental health field as a Tech 2 at the Lincoln Developmental Center, retiring in 2002. She was a very compassionate woman.

Marie lived in the Abingdon area most of her life, where she attended schools. She later received her GED from Carl Sandburg College, which was very important to her. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. She loved her dogs, country music, dancing and a good card game. She attended First Assembly of God Church while living in the Abingdon area.

Cremation was accorded. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Russ Witkowski will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
