Her parents and one son, Allen Dale Sundberg in 1955 who died as a baby, precede her in death.

Joan loved her children and was devoted to her family.

Still to this day, friends of her children recall fond memories of growing up and teasing Joan and calling her by her given name of Meredith.

She gained enormous pleasure in watching her grandchildren and, in recent years, her great grandchildren grow and develop.

Joan was a unique woman in so many ways and provided an outstanding example to her children on how to live a life filled with love, enthusiasm, and acceptance.

Joan and Dale had a wide circle of friends and she will be dearly missed among their friends, as she was always the spark of the party.

Joan was a small woman with a big personality.

Ralph and Louise Mackie are very dear and special friends of Joan and Dale.

The two couples raised their families together and still vacationed together until just a few years ago.

Another special friend to Joan was her high school friend Jan McCarthy.

Little did they know in high school, their special friendship was set to endure their entire lives.

Joan will be greatly missed by her family and friends but her influence and love will remain in their hearts forever.

Joan worked for WA Jordan and Brown Specialty as a cost clerk for 18 years, retiring in 1983.
