Dahl, Edwin C.

Edwin C. “Jim” Dahl, age 71, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 7:06 A.M. on Monday, December 30, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on January 19, 1943 in Moline, Illinois the son of Charles and Betty Morrell Dahl. He grew up in the Alexis area and attended Alexis High School. He married Martha Gattermeier in 1968 in Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death. He later married Connie S. Dawson on February 22, 1975 in Galesburg, Illinois. She survives of Galesburg, Illinois.

Surviving are his children: Chellie Dahl of Galesburg, Illinois, Scott (Brandi) Dahl of Springfield, Illinois, and Jon (Laura) Dahl of Plainfield, Illinois; four grandchildren, Helania, Ian, Nathan, and Kaitlyn Dahl; his siblings, Joyce (Kenney) Keifer of Galesburg, Illinois, Jerry (Joyce) Dahl of Galesburg, Illinois, Dave (Jennie) Dahl of Dahinda, Illinois, and Debbie Dahl-Simpson of Peoria, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard.

He and his wife owned and operated C & E Real Estate in Galesburg, Illinois for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, and was an avid gun collector and trader. He also owned and operated his own gun shop in Galesburg, Illinois and a gun shop and recreational center in Alexis, Illinois for many years. He was of the Christian Faith.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Phyllis Sterr will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. There will be a fellowship at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center following the Funeral Services. Private inurnment will be held at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois at a later date.
