Lillian Mae Parrish “Hank” Poole, 88, of Monmouth, passed away at 12:13 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home.

She was born on December 3, 1926 in Monmouth, IL, and is the daughter of Willard and Abigail Russell Parrish. Lillian was raised and educated in Warren County; she attended Windy Ridge School, and graduated from Monmouth High School. Lillian also attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL where she played basketball and softball.

Lillian married David L. Poole II in October 26, 1946 at the Fairview Center United Methodist Church, he survives.

Lillian first worked as a school bus driver for Warren School. She later worked at the Glastex Boat Factory in Monmouth. Lillian sold real estate for Martie Stegall Realty and was the Assessor for Lenox, Floyd, Sumner, and Hale Townships. She was a member of Fairview Center United Methodist Church where she was very active in the church and helped with Vacation Bible School, Sunday night youth services, church historian, and was known by many as the “Pie Lady” for her wonderful Pecan Pies. Lillian was very active in the United Methodist Woman, and also served as a church counselor at the Holy Hilary Clown Group.

She is survived by her husband David of Monmouth, daughters; DeAnn Cialdella of Tinley Park, IL, Nancy (Phil) Kuhnkey of Spokane, Wa., sons; David L. Poole III of Garland, Tx., and Dana (Janice) Poole of Monmouth. Her grandchildren; Brian, Nick, and Allison Cialdella, Brandon, and Teresa Kuhnkey, Madeline, Emma, Nicole, and Melissa Poole. Also surviving are her great grandchildren Maisen Brancato, and Jordan and Colton Kuhnkey.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings; Russell Parrish, Gale Parrish, Josephine Ross, Florence Sprout, Mildred Carlson, Shirley Newman, Margaret Allbee, Robert Parrish, and Dorothy Parrish.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Fairview Center United Methodist Church in Monmouth. Interment will be in Lenox Union Cemetery in Lenox Township. Her family will be present to receive friends prior to the service at the church from 9:30 -11:00 a.m. Memorials can be made to the Fairview Center United Methodist Church.
