Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball vs Rock Island Rocks

SpotLight-GHS-Sports-BBall

The GHS Silver Streaks Boys lost to the Rock Island Rocks tonight 42-41. The game literally came down to the wire, with the winner being completely unknown even with only 4.2 seconds left in the game! The Streaks fought hard through the whole game, but weren’t able to make the game winning shot in the final possession of the game. We’re still very proud of their hard work that they put forth thus far, especially considering the loss of Grant Gibson and Joe Williams in the last couple of weeks. This means the Streaks fall to 17-1 for the season giving them their first loss of the regular season and 4-1 in the Western Big 6 Conference. The Rocks now sit at 13-2 for their season and 5-0 in the conference. The Silver Streaks will be playing again tomorrow morning in the Martin Luther King Tournament against Minooka with a pre-game time slotted for 11:40am and then tip off scheduled for noon. You can catch the play by play from Brad Bennewitz and Jim Lee on WGIL, WGIL.com, or the TuneIn app.
