Here is a recap of tonight’s game courtesy of WGIL’s Tom Meredityh:

“The Galesburg Silver Streaks move to 9-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Western Big 6 Conference after a 48-37 win over the Moline Maroons at Wharton Fieldhouse tonight. It was a slow, slow, slow paced basketball game in which the Streaks only scored 6 points in the first quarter. They trailed 13-6 at the end of the 1st, they were up 20-19 at the half, 30-27 heading into the 4th quarter, and the Streaks nailed a bunch of free throws down the stretch to preserve the win. 11/15 from the line in that 4th quarter.

“Galesburg shot 14/32 from the field. The Maroons put up 20 more shots but also only hit 14 from the field and only hit 7/11 from the line, while the Streaks went 18/27. As far as the scoring it was Kylee Townsell leading the way for the Streaks with 14 points on 5 baskets and 4/6 from the line. 10 points for Kaylah Townsell a 3, a 2, and 5/8 from the line. Shayli Florine with 9 points in the ball game but pulled down 12 rebounds and had 4 blocks to go along with that. Raina Gully was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch-Time Player of the Game with 8 points, all coming in the 4th quarter, a 3, a 2, and 3/4 from the line down the stretch. She also had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block as well.

“So the Streaks are now 9-0. They’ll be back in action on Monday night. A non-conference game against the Jacksonville Crimsons at John Theil Gym. Streaks win it 48-37.”

You can catch the action from Monday’s game with a pre-game time at 6:06 and tip off set to go at 6:30 with play by play from Tom Meredith and Erik Gibson on 93.7FM and 1400AM WGIL, WGIL.com, or the TuneIn app.
