Barbara_WilsonThe spirit of Barbara Jean (Jones) Wilson, 83, departed her earthly body to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 17, 2015 at 8:30am at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.

The daughter of Russell and Ethel Jones of rural Burnside, Illinois, Barbara was born in LaHarpe, Illinois on February 1, 1932.

A 1950 graduate of Nauvoo/Colusa High School, she married Carroll D. Wilson on June 28, 1950. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carroll Wilson of Galesburg, Illinois; 2 daughters, Kathleen (Eric) Kirbach of Bettendorf, Iowa and Carolyn (Doug) Blucker of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, 5 grandchildren: Ben (Abby) Kirbach of Iowa City, Iowa, Erin Kirbach of Davenport, Iowa, Cole Blucker, Wade Blucker, Aunna Blucker of Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Also survives 1 brother, Robert (Norma) Jones of Severna Park, Maryland and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was always a kind, good-natured, faithful, loving, forgiving, loyal wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to many. Earlier in life, she was employed at the W.A. Schaeffer Pen Company, Ft. Madison, Iowa. While living in Galesburg, she was employed at Galesburg City Hall, the Knox County Clerk’s office, and the City Election Commission Office.

As a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Galesburg, she helped with the girls’ youth program, the Seniors Hilltopper Group and attended numerous bible study groups.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg on Friday, February 20th 2015 at 1pm, with Pastor Scott Wilson officiating. The family will greet friends after the service. A private burial of her ashes will be held at the Durham Cemetery, Durham Illinois.
