Robert “Bob” L. Lindberg, 79 of Galesburg, Illinois died at 10:37 A.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home.

He was born on March 24, 1935 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Edward D. and Jennie (Wilt) Lindberg. He was raised and educated in Galesburg, Illinois. He married the love of his life Trudy D. Little on November 4, 1972 at Coldbrook Christian Church. She preceded him in death on March 23, 1988.

Bob is survived by a son, Robert Lindberg, Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa; a daughter, Tammy (John) Rosenberg of Galesburg, Illinois; three grandchildren, John Patch, Crystal (Joey Richardson) Smith, and Phillip (Arin Miller) Smith; five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kaylee Richardson, Kadyn and Owen Smith, and Lexi Miller; two brothers, Donald (Jackie) Lindberg of Kansas City, Missouri and Edward “Bud” (Glenda) Lindberg of Springfield, Missouri; and two sisters-in-law, Carol Williams of Galesburg, Illinois and Sherry (James) Henderson of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Tadpole) Edwards, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Mike Boyer, and his in-laws Bob and Ann Little.

Bob worked at The Traveling Welder for 42 years. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285, The Galesburg Moose Lodge, and The Eagles Club of Galesburg.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, Illinois. Pastor Tyson Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Monday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home, Knoxville, Illinois. Interment will be at the Knoxville Cemetery.
