Stockton JamesJames W. Stockton, age 85, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 11:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born on April 6, 1930 in Valier, Illinois the son of Rance and Mary Polich Stockton. He attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Illinois. He married Dannie Lee Nonamaker on June 20, 1950 in Raton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2003.

Surviving are one daughter: Debbie (Rodney) Dennis of Knoxville, Illinois; one brother, Charles Stockton of Haysville, Kansas; two granddaughters, Mindy (Ryan) Barkdoll of Lehigh, Florida and Kellie Dennis (James Robertson) of East Galesburg, Illinois; three great grandchildren, Tyler Swedeen, Zachary Swedeen and Kaitlyn Robertson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one daughter, Karen Stockton.

He was a member of the Harry Philblad American Legion Post #749 in Knoxville, Illinois and served as past vice commander. He was a member of the Knoxville United Methodist

Church in Knoxville, Illinois. He worked for the former OMC retiring in 1992, then the former Maytag, retiring in 1994. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Dan Lybarger will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home & Crematory in Knoxville Illinois.
