Simpson, Clyde W. “Rusty”

Clyde W. “Rusty” Simpson, 70, of Oquawka, passed away at 1:51 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth. 

 

He was born on May 3, 1944 in Oquawka, and is the son of Clyde and Bettie (Camp) Simpson.  He was raised and educated in Oquawka, graduating from Union High School in 1962.

 

Clyde served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army.

 

He married Patricia Shaw in Biggsville, IL on May 20, 1966, she survives.

 

Clyde worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, Ia. and Gale Products in Galesburg, IL.  He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, mushrooming and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.

 

Clyde was a member of the Oquawka Eagles Aerie 3629.

 

Clyde is survived by his wife Patricia, one son Jeff Simpson, and one grandson Rusty W.V. Simpson all of Oquawka.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

 

A celebration of Rusty’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the V.F.W in Monmouth.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Oquawka Ambulance Service.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.  309-734-6008.
