CHICAGO (AP) — Asia Durr scored 14 points and Taja Cole added 13 points to lead the East to an 89-87 victory over the West in the girl’s McDonald’s All-American game on Wednesday night.
The East jumped out to a 13-2 lead, but the West came back to take the lead on Durr’s jumper, making it 30-29 with 7:43 left in the first half.
Trailing by 14 with 5:25 left, the West got it within 87-84 with 32.7 seconds left on Katie Lou Samuelson’s 3. Samuelson, a Connecticut signee, missed a 3 to tie the game with 13 seconds left.
Cole sealed the game with a pair of free throws with 6.1 seconds left.
Te’a Omari Cooper led the West with 21 points.
