Judge Sentences West Chicago Man For Abuse of Child

CHICAGO (AP) — A West Chicago man was sentenced Monday to 10 years in federal prison for taking a minor across state lines to abuse sexually.

Nicacio Jaimes-Moreno, 52, pleaded guilty in October 2014 for one count of transporting a minor interstate with the intent to engage in sexual activity.

Court documents say Jaimes-Moreno abused the victim for more than four years while living with her and her mother in three states and Mexico. He reportedly kept the girl out of school and only allowed her outside when chaperoned by him.

U.S. District Judge John Tharp imposed the maximum sentence of 10 years for the charge.

Jaimes-Moreno has been in federal custody since charges were filed in August 2013
