Record Store to Open in Galesburg

Local residents will soon have access to a large collection of vinyl, 8-tracks, and various other music sources.

Revolution Vinyl will soon open its doors in the former Tie-Dye Theater location on Main Street.

Old and new vinyl will be on sale, along with turntables, used vinyl, and turntable accessories.

That’s according to owner Amy Moser, who says the reason behind opening the store is due to her love for music.

Moser tells WGIL that essentially, a lot of things came together at the right time.

“It really was kind of a perfect storm of events that led me to decide to open the business,” says Moser. “We had the opportunity to purchase a large amount of records here in town–with the idea of purchasing these records and turning this passion into really a business venture, bringing something to the Galesburg community that hasn’t been here for a couple of years just seemed like a no brainer.”

Moser says she’s excited to bring something new to the community.

“The community of Galesburg is so artistic and creative, and eclectic–just to be a part of that– I really wanted to immerse myself in the culture here in Galesburg and add something to the downtown.”

The official opening date is yet to be announced. Moser says doors will open by the end of April at the latest.
