2 Men Hospitalized After Early Morning Evanston Shooting

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Evanston police are investigating an early morning shooting that left two men hospitalized.

The victims are a 22-year-old man from Round Lake Beach and a 23-year-old Waukegan man. Police say they left a night club in Chicago and were driving through Evanston about 3:50 a.m. Friday when another vehicle pulled alongside and a gunman fired several shots into the car.

Police did not release the victims’ names or a suspected motive for the shooting.
The vehicle from which the shots came fled south into Chicago and the victims were treated at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

The 22-year-old man was struck in the arm and back and was listed in good condition. The 23-year-old victim was hit in the head and groin and was in serious but stable condition.
