Chicago Uses 2 Second-Half Goals to Beat 10-Man Toronto FC

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) — Jeff Larentowicz scored the go-ahead goal in the 68th minute on a free kick and the Chicago Fire beat 10-man Toronto FC 3-2 on Saturday.

Toronto FC’s Warren Creavalle was sent off in the 67th minute after receiving a yellow card for rough challenge of David Accam. Larentowicz curled the ensuing free kick around the wall and inside the far post.

Joevin Jones gave Chicago (2-3-0) an early 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. Jones stole the ball from the Toronto defense, fed Shaun Maloney for a give-and-go and left-footed it into the far corner. Toronto evened the match six minutes later when Sebastian Giovinco rolled a ball through the legs of a defender and it trickled past goalkeeper Jon Busch.

Benoit Cheyrou put Toronto (1-3-0) ahead 2-1 in the 54th minute. Giovinco ran down a long ball, chipped a back pass to the penalty spot and Cheyrou finished it. Chicago’s Shaun Malone squared the game two minutes later with a shot through traffic.
