Monmouth College To Hold National Security Event

Monmouth CollegeAn area college is scheduled to host a research colloquium on national security next week.

Monmouth College will feature the event, titled “The NSA: National Security Challenges for the Next Decade.”

The two day program is designed so that students, faculty, and the public can discuss recent public affairs topics, such as the rise of ISIL and the use of U.S Military Force against it.

Former Monmouth faculty member Tobias Gibson will act as a guide of sorts through the seminars. Gibson is currently a political science and security studies professor at Westminster College. He will be joined by policy analyst William French of the National Security Network.

Together, French and Gibson will discuss ISIL and U.S. happenings, governmental spying, and Congressional oversight in the war against terror. French and Gibson will speak in various classes as well.

The colloquium starts Monday at 11 a.m., and events are open to the public.
