It was announced yesterday, that a Love’s Travel Stop & Country store will be built near the Knoxville exit off of the I-74 interchange.

That’s according to Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development President Ken Springer, who says the project has been in the works for several months–dating back before December.

Springer tells WGIL that the project culmination was a group effort.

“This project came together with the help of the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development, working very closely with area officials from Knox County, and also officials with the City of Knoxville,” says Springer. “Everybody has been playing very well on this. We’re delighted to be a part of this process.”

Springer says along with the Love’s itself, their a number of other positives to look forward to as well.

“It’s a pretty sizable project. When completed–up to 40 new jobs, as well as a hotel and two restaurants. That’s the scope of the entire development.”

Springer says the hotel and restaurant brands have yet to be determined. The site purchased is approximately 20 acres. Knox County reportedly sold the land for $744,000. The average capital expenditure for the site is expected to be around $7.5 Million dollars.
