Book by Blagojevich Brother Officially Launched

CHICAGO (AP) — A book by the brother of imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is being released.
Robert Blagojevich’s publisher says Wednesday marks the book’s official launch.

The book, “Fundraiser A,” focuses on the brothers’ joint trial in 2010 on charges of trying to sell President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat. The jury deadlocked. Prosecutors then dropped all charges against Robert. The former governor was convicted at a retrial.

Robert Blagojevich agreed to work as chief fundraiser for his brother in mid-2008. Agents arrested his brother later that year, and the initial complaint referred to Robert only as “Fundraiser A.”

In the book, Robert describes prosecutors as overzealous. The 59-year-old Tennessee businessman also says fighting the charges cost him nearly $1 million in legal bills and caused a rift with his brother.
