205logobwDistrict 205 has hired its new Finance and Operations Superintendent.

Jennifer Bloyd-Hamm will step into the role by July 1st of this year. Currently, Bloyd-Hamm is the District Superintendent of Chester-East Lincoln School District 61 in Logan County.

She will take over for outgoing Finance and Operations Superintendent David Black, who accepted a position as Superintendent in Norwood District 63.

Bloyd-Hamm says she’s always been interested in school finance, and that she feels she has a lot to offer when dealing with financial challenges.

Bloyd-Hamm tells WGIL that she’s already been working with new Superintendent Ralph Grimm gathering facts in regard to how the district can improve its financial situation.

“We’ll be sitting down in the next couple of months, prior to both of us starting on July 1st, to take a look at a lot of different areas,” says Bloyd-Hamm. “We’re going to make sure, that we really study all aspects of the district and get a lot of input from the community–from other educators in the district, definitely the teachers and parents on the future of District 205.”

Bloyd-Hamm says her current board in District 61 has had financial success balancing a budget without a deficit. District 205 and Bloyd-Hamm have agreed to a three year contract at a salary of $121,316 per year.
