Interfaith Service, Vigil Wednesday for Cardinal George

CHICAGO (AP) — An interfaith service, visitation and prayer vigil are planned as the Archdiocese of Chicago continues to mourn the death of Cardinal Francis George.

Tuesday was the first day of visitation for the cardinal, who died Friday after a long battle with cancer.

During the day Wednesday there is visitation and a 10:30 a.m. interfaith service. In the evening there is a prayer vigil for deacons and their wives.

The visitation then continues all night Wednesday at Holy Name Cathedral into Thursday morning.

George’s funeral is Thursday.
