Incoming District 205 Superintendent Recognized as “Distinct Superintendent”

grimm picA statewide accolade was recently awarded to District 205’s incoming Superintendent.

Ralph Grimm attended a ceremony at the governor’s mansion in Springfield earlier this week, where he was honored as a regional “Superintendent of Distinction,” by the Illinois Association of School Administration.

Grimm was reportedly only one of 20 superintendent’s throughout the state to be given the honor.

The current West Central Superintendent says he’s “honored and humbled” to have been nominated by his peers for the accolade.

Grimm has been an educator for 31 years–the last 10 of which he has worked in Biggsville.

Grimm says he hopes to carry-over what he has learned from his three decades of work. He tells WGIL that in 205–it has to start with communication.

“That number one goal is to find a way to work with all of the stakeholders in the district, and work on a collaborative basis so that we can make a good district better,” says Grimm. ” On top of that list, is the relationship that the board and administration team and the GEA have in terms of working together. We want to maximize that. There are some great people working in District 205.”

Grimm is taking over for outgoing Superintendent Bart Arthur, who announced he would step down earlier this year. The change in office is July 1st.
