Boy, 15, Accused of Sexual Assault of Woman on Chicago Train

CHICAGO (AP) — A 15-year-old boy is being accused of beating and sexually assaulting a 41-year-old woman aboard a Chicago Transit Authority train.

The boy was ordered to be held Thursday on $1 million bail on felony charges of aggravated sexual assault and robbery. He’s being charged as an adult.

Prosecutors say the woman boarded a Blue Line train at the CTA’s Oak Park station Monday afternoon, getting into a car that had only the boy. He walked up behind her and punched her in the head, authorities say, assaulting her and taking $2,000.

Assistant State’s Attorney Joe DiBella said the woman had a concussion and cuts and bruises all over her body.

According to authorities, the boy’s mother recognized him in surveillance photos that were released after the assault and took him to authorities Wednesday morning.
