District 205 Approves Henning Resignation Settlement

henningDistrict 205 board members met this afternoon to finalize the multi-month re-classification and now resignation of it’s district athletic director.

Ralph Henning, who served as AD within the district since 2005, came to terms with the district on an undisclosed settlement agreement.
That’s according to Superintendent Bart Arthur, who says because the files are confidential, and that financial details of the agreement will not be released to the public.

Arthur tells WGIL, the district will now begin the search for a new Athletic Director.

“The Human Resources person will post it, and we’ll start looking here quickly,” says Arthur. ” It will take a few weeks before we get the applicants in, and then then screening will take place–so it will probably be four weeks or longer before we can get that done. ”

Arthur says this is the final step in the process. Henning was scheduled to meet with the board for a public hearing last week–however he cancelled due to the settlement negotiations. Henning has been on paid administrative leave since March 13th. Arthur says the district will continue to pay Henning until his contract expires July 1st.

Meanwhile, incoming Superintendent Ralph Grimm was present at today’s meeting. Board members agreed to a consultant contract, in which Grimm will begin working within the district during a preliminary period before he officially begins this July.

The district will reportedly pay Grimm around $600 per day for the work. Board members agreed to a period of 20 days.
