Incoming Superintendent says “Communication” the Key To Working with New Board

ralph grimmDistrict 205’s new Superintendent says he is positive about working with an essentially new school board when he begins this summer.
Current West Central Superintendent Ralph Grimm will take over for the outgoing Bart Arthur July 1st. Four new board members will be seated at the boards next regularly scheduled meeting on May 11th.

Grimm says he’s seen turnover like this in the past, and that a large change could be perceived as an issue. He tells WGIL, that he’s confident however, the board and administration will be able to work together in order to “do what’s best for the kids.”

“I feel very positive, that on many things we’ve agreed, and on some things we just need to continue to dialogue so that we all know where each others interests are on a particular issue so that we can come together on a solution or a course of action and move forward together,” says Grimm. “I’m really not concerned about that.”

Grimm is continuing his 39 year career in education, and says he would like to finish in Galesburg. The current West Central Superintendent has said he “looks forward to working with all of the people in District 205.”
