Love’s in Need of 2 More Acres for Upcoming Truck Stop

loves-travel-stops-country-stores_416x416Love’s Travel Stops and Country Store is expecting to open in the near future once they get the two additional acres of land they need.

The truck stop will be in Knoxville off of Interstate 74. The stop will include a fueling station, a shopping center, a hotel and a couple of restaurants.

Loves’s Communication Specialist, Kealey Dorian, says between 60 and 80 parking spaces will be made available to professional drivers as well.

Obtaining the land needed is the first step in the project process, which should come to a completion in late 2016.
Dorian tells WGIL that once they get the land they need, they can move forward to the next step and begin construction.

“We purchased 20 acres from the county, and now we just need to finish purchasing the two acres,” says Dorain. “Once we get the purchase completed, then we can go ahead and start breaking ground and beginning construction.”

Love’s is working with Hardee’s to buy the two acres needed, totaling the site at 22 acres. The average capital expenditure for the site is expected to be around $7.5 Million dollars.

Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development President Ken Springer says, in terms of revenue for the area, “It’ll be a mixture of sales tax revenue and property tax revenue”, but he has no idea on a monetary amount.

The brands of restaurants and the hotel have yet to be determined.
