Henning Talks Moving On From District 205

henning“I could walk away bitter grapes, or I could walk away with great experience.” That statement by outgoing District 205 Athletic Director Ralph Henning is in relation to his recent resignation settlement with the district.

Henning spent 10 years in 205, but faced re-classification back into the classroom due to what district officials have cited as “performance issues.”

The outgoing AD says he would like to work in administration within another district, as an athletic director or potentially an assistant principal.

Henning tells the WGIL Morning News, that he’s appreciative of the time he’s spent in Galesburg.

“Galesburg is extremely lucky,” says Henning. “There are some great people here and they are looking out for this community. I still will remember, wherever I go, if I stay in Galesburg and work someplace else, or whether I move on –which is probably more likely–I will take good memories from this place. I’m just glad to get this part of my life over with and move on.”

Henning says he has been umpiring during his time away from the district. No definitive plans as to where Henning will work next have been announced to this point.
