Hy-Vee Recalls “Summer Fresh Pasta Salad” From Galesburg Location

hyveeHy-Vee Incorporated is recalling a product that has been on the shelves in six states at more than 50 stores including one in Galesburg.

The location at 1975 National Blvd. near Henderson Road reportedly stocked “Summer Fresh Pasta Salad”–a product facing potential threat of Listeria contamination.

The contamination can reportedly cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, as well as frail, or elderly people.

No reports of sickness or complaints associated with the pasta salad have been confirmed to this point, and management officials at the Galesburg location say they pulled the item from the shelves two days ago.

According to a press release, Hy-Vee officials say the product was available in stores between April 9th and April 27th. Those who purchased the product between those dates are asked to dispose of the product, or return it to the store for a refund.

Officials say the product is being recalled due to the vegetables within the product which could potentially be contaminated.
