Suburban Chicago Man Sentenced For Impersonating US Marshal

CHICAGO (AP) — A 39-year-old suburban Chicago man has been sentenced to three years in prison for impersonating a deputy U.S. marshal, including once at a McDonald’s.

In a statement Wednesday, the U.S. attorney’s office says Robert P. Pozycki went to a Chicago McDonald’s in 2013 dressed as a deputy and with a thigh holster with what looked like a gun.

The River Grove man allegedly approached a customer and put him in handcuffs after an argument. Pozycki later released the customer when a McDonald’s manager intervened.

Rozycki also drove a black Crown Victoria with emergency lights to encourage the impression he worked for the U.S. Marshals Service.

Rozycki pleaded guilty last year. Judge John Tharp on Wednesday also ordered him to a year of supervised release. He says that should include mental health treatment.
