2 Painted Ladies Reopens on Seminary Street

2 Painted LadiesFrom Knoxville to Seminary Street, 2 Painted Ladies has finally made the move.

Shop co-owner Wendy Newburgh says traffic was steady for the grand opening today.

Many items found around the store are redecorated furniture or other items they find at flea markets or estate sales.

Newburgh tells WGIL that the company does many things for weddings like cake stands, centerpieces and mints.

“We do veils, cake stands, card boxes, center pieces, flowers, boutonnieres, corsages,” says Newburgh. “We do everything but the dress and the cake, but we could even make the mints.”

Shop co-owner Paula Miller says holidays are big for them as well, especially the burlap wreaths for Christmas or rustic decorations for Halloween. Miller says fall is probably the busiest season for them.

Throughout the store there are various items for sale, and complimentary lemonade, mints and cupcakes.

2 Painted Ladies opened for business on Black Friday last year and after a few short months finally made the move to downtown Galesburg.

Newburgh says they have always wanted the location on Seminary for the atmosphere and foot traffic.

Miller says things get chaotic at times with both of them working full time jobs outside of the shop.

Despite the added time commitment, new products are being added daily. Many of the items in the store are made by the shop owners.
